CTB Mark and its different versions are CTBA ownership. Commissioned by AFNOR to manage many applications of the NF Mark, CTBA is authorised by the German authorities to issue the GS Mark in furniture and is pre-notified by the French authorities about the CE marking on construction products. Lastly, in fields where there is no collective certification mark, CTBA develops individual certification making it possible for companies to enhance their individual strengths on the market.
Lists of certified product manufacturers and certified service provider companies are provided by CTBA.

CTBA, certifying body of which activity is officially registered at the Official Bulletin of the French Republic, in accordance with terms of the 3 rd June 1994 Law, is warrant of this confidence.

An asset for the mutual confidence between the partners of the market.
Certification is a promotional commercial tool, which allows a company to put forward the quality of its products and of its services by means of a concerned and impartial “third party”.

Reactivity to market needs.
Certification is based on clearly announced characteristics that are defined by all the parties (certification holders, users and/or consumers, experts and/or administrators who are concerned).
Those characteristics evolve with regard to market state and evolution. Certification represents an asset to improve the market clarification.

An objective proof
A certified product or service is identified. It bears the certification logo, so that the user does not need to check anything. Indeed, the certification is based on the strictness of CTBA (the functioning complies with the EN 45011 standard requirements) and its own verifications. (Testing, inspections, audits, expertise, investigations…), and finally on the follow-up carried out by holders' self-control.

CTBA certifications
Through its certifications of products, CTBA attests the conformity of their characteristics to a reference standard.
Through its certification of services, it attests, in principle that a service will be carried out according to pre-established rules.
Through its certifications of personnel, it attests the competency of a person in a specific field.

The fields of certification
More than 2 000 certificates are published yearly for more than 650 companies, which are holders of certifications managed by CTBA. CTBA is authorised by COFRAC concerning its activity of certifying body (Authorisation n° 5-011/97, range is communicated on request) and its privileged fields are related with the first processing sector, (sawmilling and associated fields), with the furniture sector (domestic, professional and associated fields) and with the building sector. Individual certifications complete those fields on particular market niches.

Certification of Chain of Custody
CTBA is an accredited certification body for both of the most important certifications for sustainable forest management and certification of wood products : PEFC and FSC.
These logos begin to be well-known by consumers and become necessary for public market in France. They identify products containing a significant proportion of wood harvested in sustainably managed forests.

PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes)

CTBA delivers PEFC chain of custody certificates in France and all over the world.

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)

CTBA is accredited by FSC to deliver chain of custody certificates in France and in every francophon country.
